Default 30 years ago; Jim Perry Exits Card Sharks and Chuck Woolery Exits Wheel of Fortune

Hey guys,

30 years ago the year 1981 marked a sad year for NBC Daytime

NBC said goodbye to Card Sharks w/Jim Perry after 3˝ years on the air and Chuck Woolery exits the Wheel of Fortune after nearly 7 years and he would soon be replaced by Pat Sajak

But who would've thought that Jim and Chuck would return to NBC hosting Game Shows, this time, for Reg Grundy Productions

Jim would host $ale of the Century from January 3, 1983-March 24, 1989 and Chuck would host SCRABBLE from July 2, 1984-March 23, 1990 and again 1993 from January 18-June 11

Jim Perry is now 78 years and he is retired from the Entertainment Industry, but he did appear on the 1st EVER GSN's Game Show Awards and Chuck Woolery is 70 years old and he's still goin' strong

and also, Card Dealer Markie Post found great success as an actress w/abc's The Fall Guy Starring Lee Majors, NBC's Night Court and CBS' Hearts Afire with the late John Ritter

after SCRABBLE and Love Connection, Chuck would host The Dating Game from 1997-1999 and he would work reunite w/Producer Dick Clark as the host of GREED and later SUPER GREED and he would host LINGO on GSN for 5 years and his most recent Game Show is called Think Like a Cat

and as for Card Sharks, w/Jim Perry hosting $ale, Mark Goodson and his son Jonathan would bring Card Sharks back to life on CBS and syndication with Bob Eubanks as host of the CBS Version and Bill Rafferty as the host of the syndicated version and Lacey Pemberton and Suzannah Williams were the Card Dealers, but in 2001, Pearson Television brought CS back to life in 2001 w/Pat Bullard, but the show flopped BIG TIME

and as for Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak would host the show on NBC until 1989, Former NFL Pro Rolf Benirschke hosted the show until the show left NBC and Bob Goen of Entertainment Tonight Fame hosted the show for CBS and again on NBC from 1989-1991

The show left Daytime Television in September of 1991, but from Septembe 1983-present, Wheel of Fortune aired on syndication and to this day, it is the single longest running Game Show on syndication

and that's your look @ a moment from 30 years ago:
