Default 40 years ago; Hanna Barbera Debuts 3 NEW Cartoons

Hey guys,

40 years ago this fall;

3 NEW Hanna-Barbera Cartoons Debut on Saturday Morning Television:

The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch and The Funky Phantom

The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch both debut on CBS Saturday Morning

Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm was the Spin-off of the Popular Flintstones Franchise and the 2 some were Teens along with their groovy stone age friends

Pebbles Flintstone was voiced by Sally Struthers who is best known as Gloria Bunker Stivic on the Emmy Award Winning Series All in the Family and its spin-off Gloria and Babette on Gilmore Girls

She also played the voice of Rebecca Cunningham on The Disney Series TaleSpin (The Spin-off of the Film Disney's The Jungle Book) and Charlene Sinclair on Disney and Jim Henson's Dinosaurs for abc Primetime

She's also appeared on abc's Match Game w/Ross Schafer and was a Sub-Host of Win, Lose or Draw and she's also a Spokesperson for International Correspondence Schools which is now renamed Penn Foster Career School

She is currently starring in the stage production of "Hello Dolly" at the Riverside Dinner Theatre in Fredericksburg, VA

Bamm Bamm Rubble was voiced by Jay North who is best known as the title role to the CBS and Screen Gems Produced Classic Series Dennis the Menace based on the popular Comic Strip by the late Hank Ketcham

He also starred in the NBC Series called Maya during the 67/68 Season

She is best known for her crazy comedy skits on the NBC Series Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In

Wiggy and Cindy were voiced by Gaye Hartwig

and Schleprock was voiced by veteran voice actor the late Don Messick

Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch takes place @ the Wonderland Zoo where 3 of the wildest and crazy bears are always looking for that better living conditions in Cave Block #9 and they would outsmart their keeper Mr Peevly and his Assistant Botch in trying to escape from the zoo in their search for fun and antics

Hair Bear sounds like Yogi Bear and that's b/c they're both voiced by Legedary Voice Actor the late Daws Butler

Bubi Bear was voiced by the late Paul Winchell who is best known as the voice of Woofer on Clue Club and Goober on Goober and the Ghost Chasers, but he is also best remembered as the voice of Tigger on Disney's Winnie the Pooh

The Funky Phantom which was another parody of the popular Scooby-Doo Series Debut on abc Saturday Morning

It was a show about 3 ordinary Teenagers-April Stewart, Augie Anderson and Skip Gilroy along with their pet Dog Elmo

While trying to get out of a storm when driving the Looney Duney, they entered an old house where the longcase clock was wrong. Upon setting the clock to midnight, it released two ghosts: a Revolutionary War-era ghost named Jonathan Wellington "Mudsy" Muddlemore and his cat, Boo. The two stumbled upon two Redcoats they stumbled upon and ended up hiding inside the clock during the Revolutionary War, but then couldn't get out and eventually died inside

Ever since being freed by their new friends, Mudsy and Boo have accompanied them on many mysteries, always giving an invisible helping hand

The voice of The Funky Phantom was voiced by the late Daws Butler and was identical to his voice work for the character Snagglepuss, even down to the use of Snagglepusses catchphrases, such as appending sentences with the word "even"

The voice of April Stewart was voiced by Kristina Holland who has done voice work for Alice Boyle on Hanna-Barbera's Wait Till Your Father Gets Home and she is best known for her acting work as Tina Rickles on the abc Series The Courtship of Eddie's Father Starring the late Bill Bixby and Brandon Cruz
