Kim Kardashian's ex-Husband Kris Humphries Signs $8 Mil. Contract w/ New Jersey Nets
Kris Humphries Signs Contract With New Jersey Nets Worth Nearly $8 Million
12/21/2011 by Erin Carlson Kris Humphries is moving on from his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian by inking a new contract to return to the New Jersey Nets. The NBA forward and free agent -- most famous as the estranged E! reality-TV husband -- signed on with the Nets for one year and nearly $8 million, ESPN reports. "My outlets in life are God, family and basketball. I'm happy to have basketball back. I feel like I'm home, man," Humphries, 26, said when the news became official Wednesday. Humphries will attend Wednesday's preseason game against the New York Knicks; according to Yahoo! Sports, he had initially sought a $10 million, multi-year contract but the Nets reportedly aim to save money in hopes of luring the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard -- a potential free agent -- to the team next summer. "Look, if you ask any player who plays basketball, they all want a max contract with the longest terms possible," said Humphries. "But I'm happy with the deal that I got, and I'm happy to be back here. I know that the team is moving in a new direction, and I'm just happy to be a part of that." According to the never-ending rumor mill that is the Kardashian divorshian, Humphries' unemployment due to the league's lockout allegedly bothered his famous wife and her workaholic family. But a recent episode of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York", currently airing on E!, shows Kardashian complaining about his decision to leave her in their Manhattan hotel suite and return home to his native Minnesota for offseason training. (He flew back to Manhattan to appease her. Now he must win his fans back.) "Life just happens," Humphries said, referencing the high-profile split. "I'm a positive thinker. "In life I always look at the things that I can control, which is being ready and working on my game." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...dashian-275928 |
