how many of you give a gift to your doctor, therapist, etc. at Christmas? How about your co-workers? or give a tip to your barber, hairdresser, etc.

I've given a gift to my hairstylist before. We have a jewelry store that we've been going to for about 4 years now and have become such good friends with the staff there that we exchange gifts and Christmas cards. Also, there are a couple of waiters at our favorite Red Robin whom we are going to give Christmas cards to.

"No" to most of the above.
The doctors, therapists, etc. make enough already, I don't think they need any presents. As for co-workers, we used to have a gift exchange years ago but it always made me kind of uncomfortable (some people went over the limit on price, others were cheap, sometimes you got the name of someone you didn't like, etc.) so I was glad when everyone just stopped doing it, mostly because a lot of us don't get along that well anymore, lol. The barber/stylist is a bit different. I know there's a bonus tradition there and I think if you are satisfied with their work, it's cool to give them a little extra. |

I sent an e-card to my physical therapist and one to the therapists assistants who helps her with me most of the time. And I plan on getting them both a gift card, just 10 or 15 dollars. I wasn't going to and just send the cards, but my mother and sister talked me into it.
(they wanted me to give the therapist a plant!) |

Always cards with cash for hair stylists, cat groomer, mailman, newspaper carrier and anyone else who is in the service industry. I live in a condo complex. The newspapers are left in the front foyer. Our neighbor is up early and gets our paper when she gets hers. It's in plastic, so she hangs it on our doorknob.
She knows we sleep late It's a bit out of her way. It's very kind of her. This week, we're giving her a small Christmas bag with boxes of candy and a $25 gift card for CVS. That's on top of giving the regular newspaper carrier $25. Oh well, such is life. It's Christmas.

I always buy little gifts for our waitresses at our local restaurant. It's a small place with a small staff so moneywise it doesn't cost that much. I usually buy each a Christmas ornament or figurine . They love that!

I do for some co workers, but that's mainly because we're friends.

None to the above. I did give gifts to each of my daughters teachers.

I give small gifts to the mail carrier, the newspaper delivery woman and a couple of close friends from the factory where I work. I also work part-time at a restaurant but we don't exchange gifts there. We do chip in & buy the managers/supervisors gift cards at both of the places where I work. I don't see my doctor often enough to give him a gift & I don't have a therapist or a regular hairdresser.
