Confused Is 'That 70's Show' Becoming A Forgotten Sitcom?

Today, "Two and a Half Men" remains syndication's leading offnet sitcom at a 6.5, on par with its fifth-season syndication premiere in September. In second and third place, Twentieth's two strong contenders, "Family Guy" and "How I Met Your Mother," also have gained since September, with "Family Guy" adding 5% for a 4.2 and "Mother" improving 11% (3.6). "Mother" also has added a run on FX, which is boosting its numbers.

The rest of the genre also is up or flat, with only two veteran shows -- Twentieth's "King of the Hill" and Carsey Werner's "That '70s Show" -- declining, off 5% and 15%, respectively.

As long as it's still in syndication now seen on N@N it won't be forgotten, sometimes viewers get tired of a certain show. Some shows get more popular than others.

I think it's just burnout. It was on about 5 different channels for a few years.

Yeah, I think it's just a result of too many networks airing it in syndication, and people growing tired of it. I shouldn't be able to watch the same episode three different times a week on three different stations! The same thing is happening for me with HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. It airs on CBS (New), and it reruns for me on My9 (NYC Local), WGN America, FX, and Lifetime. That's way too much for a show under 200 episodes (thus far at least).

I just have this word...

NO!

If It's on almost every station...It can't be that forgotten.

I have all eight seasons of That '70s Show on DVD as well, even though I still watch the ABC Family/MTV afternoon reruns whenever I can.

The fact that it's even still in syndication pretty much says no. It's been off the air for six years now so it's not going to be pulling in Big Bang/Two and a Half Men numbers anymore.

Yeah, I would have to say this show is on it's way out. It's been on a million stations already including FX, local Fox affiliates, Nick at Night, TVLand and ABC Family. It's already on at 2:30 - 3:00 AM on TVLand plus this week they announced that they are going to start airing "Curb Your Enthusiam" and showing random episodes of "That 70's Show" which probably means that they are looking to retire it.

True, however Ten Nick is aimed at a much younger group and has doesn't have as many households viewing it. My bet is since it has been over saturated and has been on many stations already, it will be dumped within a year or two and might return when it's really, really old, if TV still exists at that time.
