Although my kids are married I buy them Christmas gifts. I probably always will! I have 6 siblings and we used to draw names but we discontinued that years ago. Some of them just couldn't afford it. We all always bought for each others kids until they turned 18. So mainly I buy for my children their spouses and my grandchildren.

we have a family pollyanna, but other than that we don't buy gifts for the family (the immediate family) because my parents are in their 80s now and all the adults are in our 40s and 50s and the kids are in high school or college now, also with 8 of us and various in-laws, nieces and nephews it just got to be too much (and too expensive)

Default Nothing lasts forever

My family always exchanged. I enjoyed it. My family wasn't big, so it didn't hurt financially. I miss it, a lot.

When I have the money, yes.

I got most of my immediate family coupon books. They last for the entire year!

Yes, I give gifts to my family. I always give my mother and sister Christmas gifts.
With my brother and his family I have scaled back. In years past I used to spend a lot more money on them. I don't feel the gifts were appreciated and sometimes were not even acknowledged. A gift I gave last year, that I thought was very thoughtful of me, has sat unused at their house. What a waste. I used to get them all individual gifts and it would total a lot. This year I gave a family gift. It was a nice photograph book (504 pages - hardcover) of wildlife animals to them. They all love animals and education is very important to them for the kids. I gave the kids gift cards for a fastfood restaurant.
I don't give to get. I have noticed though, I usually end up with the short end of the stick from my sister-in-law, brother and their five kids. Sometimes I don't get anything from them. When I do, it's one small gift from the entire family.

We usually exchanged gifts with my mom and she gives gifts to us. I'm from a pretty good sized family, so except for a brother and a couple of sisters who usually exchanged gifts with me, we usually just give gifts to the nieces and nephews. I usually get gifts for the younger 12 nieces and nephews in my family. I spend about $10-20 dollars per gift. I don't always get a thank you from the kids, but the parents are usually pretty good in remembering to thank me. Sometimes the parents of the my nieces and nephews give me a gift to acknowledge their thanks. Sometimes however, they don't but it doesn't bother me because it's better to give than to receive. And it's costs a lot of money to raised kids.

Everybody on my list is getting something that I brought back from Brazil this past May.

Next year's gifts will come from New Mexico.
