Default Antenna TV has cleared 57% of the country with affiliation agreements

This January, Antenna TV will add additional affiliates including: WATL Atlanta; KSNV Las Vegas; WGRZ Buffalo, N.Y.; WTVQ Lexington, Ky.; WRCB Chattanooga, Tenn.; WANE Fort Wayne, Ind.; and KPVI Idaho Falls. These new affiliates will increase Antenna TV’s reach to 59 markets across the U.S. covering 57% of TV households.

It's about time they hit Buffalo! Now I can finally use my new antenna that I bought last summer for just that purpose. I hope they won't interrupt some of their programs for some typical stupid Buffalo-style programming like "This Week With The Buffalo Bills", or "Cellino & Barnes: Special Victims Unit!". For an example of this, you can look at what they've done with their ME-TV station in the mornings. It's not for the faint of heart so you can skip this next paragraph if you choose.

At 5:00 am, WBBZ Buffalo's ME-TV station will show Gomer Pyle just like most other ME-TV stations in the US. At 5:30, they have a local business report for half an hour. Next, at 6 am, it's 3 hours of a daily talk show called The Daily Buzz. That means that Buffalo viewers will be missing out on, in order, "Dobie Gillis", "Love American Style", "Family Affair", "The Beverly Hillbillies", "Petticoat Junction", "My Three Sons", and "I Love Lucy" . In the words of the immortal Charlie Brown: "AAAAAUUUGGGHHH!!" The good news is that this atrocity to humanity is found on channel 67.1. If you want the good stuff, uninterrupted and untarnished, you have to tune it to 67.3, which I can't do because their signal is so weak it can't be seen across the border, and I've tried many, many times.

Once Antenna TV Buffalo debuts Jan. 1, 2012, I'll be thrilled to be able to watch my favorites again like "The Monkees", "The Partridge Family", and "Leave it To Beaver" and I'm also excited to see the rare gems that don't get shown often like "Gidget", "The Flying Nun", "Dennis The Menace", and "Father Knows Best".

Even more intriguing is that initially WGRZ will wisely begin following KTLA's example by running a couple of 'preview' shows on their main channel (2.1) on the afternoon of Dec. 31 before the official launch of Antenna TV on 2.2 the next day. I don't know what they'll choose but I'm hoping this becomes a regular feature. Maybe we might see the return of "Lunchtime With The Classics" with lovely Lydia Dominick come back in 2012! I'm keeping my fingers crossed very tightly for this!

Is your Me-TV affiliate owned by your CW affiliate? The Daily Buzz is a nationwide CW show airing at that time.

I noticed when Antenna-tv shows old movies and they end 30 minutes early, they fill in the remaining time with episodes of Ford Theatre. That's a hell of a lot better than jamming more commercials on there.

I have never heard of Antenna Tv. I thought it was a station you could only get with an antenna which I haven't used in decades. Tell me more about antenna tv.

And still no sign of Antenna TV or Me-TV coming to Nashville.

I know what you mean, about that morning show they put in there everyday. I hate that show. It's right in the middle of most of the shows I want to watch on the channel. I really want to watch My Three Sons and Petticoat Junction. Family Affair I have the whole series on DVD.

I can't get 67 to come in at all with my antenna let alonen 67.3, so I just have the 67.1 that Direct TV carries.

Back to Antenna TV,

I was very happy at 12:01 to turn my tv mode to using my antenna, tune into 2.2 and finding Burns and Allen !! Happy 2012 !

I love how it is becoming widespread. That is the new Nick at Nite for me.

Agreed, ThomasE. My only complaint with AntennaTV is that they show two episodes in a row of all their sitcoms (like most sitcom reruns on cable). If they'd show one episode per day of each of their shows, they'd have more variety and separate themselves even more from Nick at Nite and TV Land.

I live in Fort Worth, Texas and we just got Antenna TV added to the cable lineup a few months ago. I love that station. I hope they will add MeTV soon, too. It is such a great alternative to watch instead of TV Land which has gotten rid of most of their classic TV show programming and has way too many commercials aired.
