Another one I've just caught up on - would be interested in other sources on the subject before drawing a conclusion, so any guidance in this area would be appreciated.

My instinct, after watching the UM segment and another couple of TV items on the case, is that Cindy made at least some of this up herself, possibly as a result of mental illness and maybe fuelled by a wish to see her ex-husband cuffed, shoved in the back of a patrol car and slung into court.

The killer for me was the fact that when her home was placed under surveillance the harassment stopped, only for it to kick off again when the authorities left things to their own devices. That said, there are plenty of other reasons for believing this to be self-inflicted - the way in which her body was placed on another occasion with the intention of it being found.

Surely if one wishes their victim to die slowly of hypothermia (a horrendous modus operandi it should be said) then they would place the body well out of the way and not at the roadside?

The 'arson' which was proven to have been started from inside the building is another one that is nigh on impossible to answer. I struggle to see how anyone could think 100% of what Cindy went through was genuine harassment from another person. At least a significant percentage of it has to be the work of an individual crying wolf, and once someone does this, it's not unreasonable to ask why she should be believed about anything else.

I'm leaning strongly towards thinking this was a suicide (albeit one that may have been accidental - the idea may have been that of being found again?). I appreciate there is further information out there in books etc...so like I said earlier, a stear on one or two would be appreciated.

This is one of the most baffling cases I have ever seen.
I feel that Cindy definitely had some level of mental illness, but
if, in fact, she was being stalked and harassed, the person doing it was
clever enough to get the police to disbelieve her.
I'd love to read more on this case.
