Since this show was set right in Manhattan, was there ever any
mention of the world trade center being gone during the remainder of the 2001-02 season or the seasons after that?

I can understand it since the show was kind of like Three's Company so mentioning the Towers wouldn't have been a normal thing for a show like Friends |

I'm glad they didn't. I think for a lot the show is a means of escaping daily stress and for 30 minutes you can zone into their world and step away from everything going on in the world.
