Bea Arthur was the star of the 70s hit show Maude. Betty White was a cast member of the Mary Tyler Moore show. I am not sure about Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty.

Rue McClanahan starred in Maude as Vivian Cavender Harmon, Maude's best friend who married next door neighbor, Arthur Harmon. In 1978, after Maude ended, Rue starred in the shortlived series, Apple Pie.
In 1983, Rue McClanahan starred in Mama's Family as Aunt Fran and Betty White also appeared in that show as Ellen. Betty White also made appearances in Mama's Family at the same time The Golden Girls was in production. Estelle Getty, before The Golden Girls, had a successful career on stage in plays as well as a role in the movie, Mask. |

Thanks, you are correct about Rue, it has been so long since I have seen Maude, that I had forgot about her character.

Right. Apple Pie was the sitcom that Norman Lear created for Rue after Maude ended. However, it only lasted 2 episodes (back to back one night) before it was cancelled. Last summer, I came across a set of original publicity photos with attached press releases. I have them in the photo gallery at my website, if anyone wants to see pics or read more info about the show: http://www.goldengirlsruemcclanahan....m/gallery.html
