Default How is this possible?

How is this possible? I checked my tv stations that I have and I noticed something. Now excluding channel 5 which is QVC,channel 8 which is HSN and 171 which is JWLTV from 1 to 300, there are 100 channels that have nothing on them!!! There are not even listed. My point is you know from this board that I mentioned how I lost FOX 5, WPIX 11, WWOR 9 all out of New York and how I dont have ME-TV yet. With that being the case, how come there are a 100 free channels out there and yet I dont have the channels I mentioned above.

I have channels that I really dont watch yet the ones I want are not even available. My point of all this is that you mean to tell me I cant get FOX 5, WPIX 11, WWOR 9 and ME-TV? I mean there are 100 free channels that you can put those 4 stations on yet they dont do that, yet I have to have 3 shopping channels!! 3!!!

I also dont understand why sometimes I get notified of channels that I get and sometimes I dont? I got notified about getting MLB Network, Big 10 Network etc. yet when I got Ovation, Smithsonian etc. I got nothing. They just appeared.

I have DirecTV and QVC is shown on two different channels. I'm sure they could get rid of a duplicate channel and put another station on. The duplicate isn't even HD. It makes me wonder.

Every knows that cable is a RIPOFF. We all have 100 or more channels we are paying for that we never watch but that;s just the reality of cable.

We are only paying for the channels that we do like which for me that is a total of 22 channels. LOL The channels below is what I pay $70 a month for

CNN
ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNEWS
MTV
VH1
BET
CSN
TBS
N@N
FAM
N@N2
TNT
TVOne
TVLAnd
Biography
GMC
Centric
NFLTV
REdzone
NBATV
ESPNClassic

I think the shopping channels pay the Pay-tv companies to carry them since they are just 24 hour advertisements.Of course shopping channels should be dropped or only made available to those who request them, but as most know Pay-TV companies are a bunch of criminals.

I guess QVC is paying them extra to carry them on 2 seperate 'channels'.I do not have satellite but when Antenna-TV and possibly Me-TV offered them FREE carriage, isn't one of the reasons the satellite companies rejected them is because they claimed they do not have any room available,or some other nonsense.Yet they seem to have room for 2 QVCs.

Both the Smithsonian Channel and Ovation are actually pretty good channels. Smithsonian reminds me a lot of what Discovery and the History Channel used to be, while Ovation reminds me of A&E & Bravo in their earlier days. Here's the schedules for both channels:

Smithsonian: http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/site/sn/schedule.do

Ovation: http://ovationtv.com/schedules

Comcast don't offer either one of those channels

They do in my area. Both in SD & HD. You need the Digital Preferred tier though.

Would there be anyway to get WWOR, FOX 5 NY and WPIX back? Now I mentioned this in the ME-TV but how come no ME-TV in CT. Apparently, we are supposed to get it because its on the same channel in NY as CT. WSAH is the channel and it supposed to be on in NYC and thats the same channel I have now that shows RTV.

Is there anyway I get WWOR, FOX 5 NY and WPIX back? Im also worried because if they took those channels out, whats to say WCBS 2, WABC 7 etc. isnt next?

It's really too bad that they can't give you like 40 basic channels and then have you pick the rest. I can't stand when I do a search for movies or whatever and find out that what I want to watch comes on a station that we can't get! So unfair!

I thought you had to live in stamford, CT to get those NY channels. I use to live in hartford, CT and did not get any NYC channels.
