Lightbulb The Hall Scene

When the finale was on the other night I taped it on a new tape, and so when the pilot was on the other night, I continued taping on that tape. Last night, I watched the finale again, and then it led right into the pilot, and I noticed something seeing it back to back. I remember someone saying that they didn't like the part in the finale where Sam walked into the pool room, that it seemed out of place. But if you notice, the first shot of the pilot is of Sam coming out of the brightly lit pool room, the beginning of Cheers. I was thinking that maybe they had Sam walk into the darkness of the backroom because that is how he was introduced to the audience. The audiences first memory of "Sam" was him walking in from the brightly lit pool room, and their last memory was of him walking into the darkness of the poolroom. Maybe I am crazy...but possibly this was intentional?

It was very much intentional. They wanted to end the show exactly as it started with Sam walking down that hall, the first time opening everything up getting ready for today, and the last time closing everything up getting ready for tomorrow's business.
The bar may have not been his one true love, but it certainly was his first true love, even more so than baseball.

werid alot of us think alike because i was going to say the same thing again,i thought that was an allright ending,it was alot better i think for the begining and a good end after all sam only has so many places to go,but i did notice the same thing for a long time and i just assumed that it must be an intentional thing
