Default America's Most Wanted begins airing on Lifetime tonight!

Don't forget that tonight is the season premiere of America's Most Wanted! This is the show's first season on the Lifetime channel, but 25th season altogether. It will air at 9:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time).

Although AMW is back as a weekly series on Lifetime, the Fox network is still committed to airing quarterly two-hour specials, with the next special scheduled to air on Saturday, December 17 at 8:00 pm (EST).

Just watched it - pretty good, long cases unlike UM!

Glad it's back. Hope it gets ratings.

If you check out the TV schedule, you will see that AMW encores will be shown not only on Lifetime but also on A&E, Lifetime's sister channel. One of A&E's encore broadcasts of the show is scheduled for this coming Thursday at 11 pm (EST).

The production values on AMW seem to have gone down with the move to Lifetime, but I think that's to be expected. I'm sure the budget is way less, moving from a national network to basic cable. It seems like Fox shot the show on film, while Lifetime is shooting on videotape (well, not videotape, but you know what I mean)

And the acting seemed really bad last night, especially in the case about the guy murdered on the beach. The actor playing him was pretty brutal, IMO.

But I'm just glad the show is back. I'll keep watching.

I almost gave up after the murdered dad segment because the acting and dialogue was so horrendous. It was like actually watching a Lifetime movie. But the rest of the cases presented were good. Hopefully it will get enough decent ratings so more of these idiots will be captured.

Admittedly, that's a disadvantage to television reenactments. The acting is often bad, but then again they're not meant to be Emmy-material.

I believe AMW has the potential to do well for Lifetime. Whether or not it becomes their #1 show is unimportant to me, just as long as it garners enough audiences to continue.

And being on Lifetime, I'm sure the network is going to "Lifetimeize" the show, and really focus on cases in a femalecentric manner.

I think I just made up two words there. Sorry about that.

It only got a 0.9 overall and a 0.3 in the demographic. Pretty lame and a far fall from when it was on FOX. Oh well. Tells you what UM got....

They did a UM marathon leading up to tonight's AMW episode.

Did they do that last week too? I don't remember. I watched last week's AMW, but watched it with the tv muted today (had to help hubby update his resume) and didn't actually get to see it.

I'm thinking someone finally figured out that we UM fans are also interested in AMW and decided that would be the best way to draw our attention to the fact that it's on a new network.

Well, I recall that UM was on at 8 pm last Friday, right before the season premiere of AMW.

Although there are many viewers who like both shows, there are others who like one but not (necessarily) the other. It's actually no different than, for example, Coke and Pepsi; there are many soda drinkers who like both colas, but there are others who only like Pepsi, and others who only like Coke.

Although Fox shot the dramatizations on film, it wasn't always the case. In fact, the network originally videotaped them during the show's first two years on the air. And then by 1990, they were phasing out the videotape in favor of film.

I'm not surprised by the criticism of the acting. After all, the acting in such dramatizations are often terrible anyway!
