Eastbound & Down to Return February 19th, 2012

Greatness returns to HBO in February! The pay cabler has announced that the Danny McBride starrer Eastbound & Down will return for eight weeks beginning Feb. 19. The comedy follows Kenny Powers (McBride), a star pitcher whose self-destructive behavior knocks him out of major league baseball.

The show will be followed by Life’s Too Short, a new show/faux documentary starring Warwick Davis (Harry Potter franchise) as a fictionalized version of himself. Here’s the description from HBO: “He’s a down-and-out little person desperately trying to hustle and connive his way back into the spotlight.” It’s written, directed and executive produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, and includes cameos by Johnny Depp, Sting and Steve Carell, along with Gervais and Merchant playing themselves in minor roles.
