Was it in first run on CBS?
Local Syndication? TV Land? DVD's? Word Of Mouth? How did you find out about this show and did you instantly love it or did it have to grow on you a bit?

I discovered it as part of that magnificent Saturday CBS lineup in the early 70s. I was a teen then, and what a treat it was to see the show first-hand. Loved it then, love it now. One of the very few shows I would wchoose to watch non-stop.

I discovered it in elementary school in the mid-late 90's on Nick at Nite. It was part of a great line-up featuring shows like I Love Lucy, Bewitched, The Munsters, I Dream of Jeannie, and Bob Newhart. That was probably my favorite Nick at Nite era. I enjoyed the show then, but haven't seen an episode in a long time. I have feeling that as a young adult I would get an entirely new type of enjoyment out of the show. Maybe I should consider getting at least the first season on DVD

You definitely should, the show is great. As for me, I remember it on local syndication in the early 80's and thought it was ok. It wasn't until I purchased DVD's where I really got to appreciate the humor. |

IN the UK they only showed the early seasons of MTM but its Rhoda that has
been shown a lot here, particularly on cable. When Channel 4 started here in 82,they showed the first three seasons of MTM,even when the UK Family channel showed it,they stopped a few episodes into season6. The comedy duo French and Saunders selected "Chuckles Bites The Dust" in a show in the 90s,so I had to buy the DVDs to see all the seasons, great show. |
