If you are a very keen LITB watcher, play close attention to many episodes in Season 5 and 6 when when Wally, Beaver, and Eddie share the same scene. And the following are even more examples of Jerry's acting and timing in not only what he says, but his actions as well.
In many later years episodes if you see a scene with Wally, Beaver, and Eddie together, and Eddie is trying to con Wally into doing something devious, or talking some line of b.s, watch some of Beaver's reactions, even without saying anything! He will do things like shake his head or role his eyes just knowing that Eddie is "Shoveling It!" LOL! And sometimes Beaver will just speak up about Eddie phony mannerisms. Eddie will say to Wally, 'You know boy, sometimes I worry about you." Beaver comes back with, "YOU WORRY ABOUT HIM!!!???" LOL! I'm not sure of the episode situation, but Eddie I think says something with his typical phony politeness to June, "Good Evening Mrs. Cleaver, oh you look so nice today!" Than after June leaves the room, Beaver does something even better than a subtle body gesture showing Eddie's phoniness. He calls Eddie a hypocrite. Than Eddie's like, "Knock it off Junior, show a little respect. I'll bet you don't even know what it means." Beaver comes back and says, "I sure do!" than he says, he learned the word in school, and gives a "Websters Dictionary like definition" than says, "If that doesn't fit you, than I don't know what does!" Beaver was very perceptive about Eddie in later seasons, maybe even more so than Wally! Jack |

I think Wally knew Eddie was full of sh*t, but put up with him because they were friends. Also life was never dull with Eddie around.

Beaver was the only one that we saw get a glimpse of the real Eddie. One of the episodes was when Eddie came and stayed with the Cleavers while Eddie's parents were out of town, the other was when Eddie quit school and went to work at the service station. Even June and Ward knew, and would comment on it after Eddie left the room. |
