Does anyone remember this case, another war case when a loved one was feared dead but a convincing photograph seemed to dispute what the army had to say? I always liked this one and thought that even if the brother's theory about Sylvan being put in a concentration camp was perhaps far-fetched, it was quite chilling nonetheless.
The UM Wiki page says that the case has been solved and that the photo, despite two of the other men being identified by their families, must be a case of mistaken identity. Does anyone have anymore info? |

Like the Vietnam one & as we see with cases like Tara Calico family members usually understandably see what they want to see-their family member still alive, rather than the reality. Although personally if I had the choice of a family member dying quickly in a plane crash or being held for decades & tortured by the Viet Cong or starved & tortured before being put in a gas chamber by the Nazi's I would rather the former.

In the case of Sylvan Lazarus, I can understand wanting to know what happened, but I agree it would definitely be a worse scenario that he ended up in a concentration camp to be tortured rather than a quick plane crash. |
