Question Do You Prefer Mrs. Wolowitz to Be Unseen Or Would You Like to Finally See Her?

If you want to see her, who would you like to play the character?

I think her character is funnier unseen.....but if she ever is seen...I think Julie Kavner (she played Rhoda's sister...and she's also the voice of Marge Simpson) would be perfect.

I agree that Mrs. Wolowitz is one of those characters who is funnier because we don't ever actually see her. Just hearing her voice shrieking from off stage makes me crack up laughing!

I love Julie Kavner though and she would be funny for the part. Great suggestion! She'd need extensive padding though, since Mrs. Wolowitz has been described as a very large woman.

I think Renee' Taylor would be perfect as Mrs. Wolowitz. She has the right credentials for the role, inclding Fine's mom on The Nanny.

Since they haven't shown her yet and the show has been on for almost 5 years, I doubt she'll ever be seen and I think it's better that way. If they ever decide to show her, it's gotta be the woman that does the voice of Mrs Wolowitz. Anyone else would be a disappointment because they couldn't do that awful irritating voice the same way as her.

I agree that some characters are best unseen. Dorothy's brother Phil on The Golden Girls was the same way, he was always talked about but you never saw him. Anyway, back on topic, I think Julie Kavner wouldn't be a bad choice, say if the woman he does play Mrs. Wolowitz passed away or something she could be an easy replacement.

better unseen - the woman that does her voice on the show is perfect

...but she looks nothing like you'd expect her to by the sound (and the way they've described her on the show)

Default Unseen--def!!

I think its much funnier to have her unseen...because then your mind is picturing SO many things about her....but if we saw what she actually looked like, well Im sure a lot of us would be like, she looks NOTHING like I thought she would!!!

Some people are better off unseen, ever. Mother Wolowitz is definitely one of them.
