TV On "My Three Sons" when they made the move to California

Which do you think would have been better? If 1)If they had had several episodes where they got used to living in California and then episodes where Robbie had "played the field"-gone out withn OTHER girls, before finally settling down and going out with and eventually marrying Katie?Or 2)The way it was played out, with the family moving and Robbie falling in love and marrying Katie almost the minute the Douglas' got out there, because it seemed that in one episode they moved out there,Rob fell in love with Katie snd the next episode they got married.I think #1 would have been a little bit better. What about the rest of you?

I never gave that any thought but now that you mention it, it would have made more sense to have him play the field a little since they moved to a new place. However, I guess once he met her, it was "love at first sight".....

Almost every season opening in Calif. played out a major event in the first several episodes: (1) Rob marries Katie, (2) Katie begins the triplets saga, (3) Steve marries Barbara, (4) Chip marries Polly, (5) Steve's twin cousin Fergus visits, (6) nothing major, excpet the departure of Don Grady. So it makes sense that they married him off early in the season.

Hold on a minute -- Steve married Barbara in Season 10. There were only two more seasons after that, not three as you've indicated (five seasons total in CA, not six).

Here is the California breakdown:

Season 8: Rob / Katie marriage
Season 9: Triplets
Season 10: Steve / Barbara marriage
Season 11: Chip / Polly marriage
Season 12: Fergus / Terri marriage; Rob largely absent

I love Ronne Troupe, Tina Cole, and the late Beverly Garland, so while others dismiss the final 2 seasons, I'm in heaven with those!

Yep...I blew it. Fergus was S12. I agree with you on the final 2 seasons...and those are the hardest to collect, since they're so rarely shown. My copies originate from the old Odyssey network, very heavily edited. I wish I had thought to tape Nick ant Nite a few years ago...

I liked the last two seasons also. I thought Barbara was a good addition.
