In 2000 two African American males went on a brutal crime spree murdering seven people. the final crime spree took place on September 9th. Reginald and Jonathan Carr broke into a house while a group of friends were hanging out.
H.G. (name is witheld) went to stay over her boyfriend's house. (Jason Befort aged 26 a Science and Gym teacher) he lived with two college buddies Brad Heyka (Aged 27 a Financial Analyst) and Aaron Sander (Aged 27 who wanted to become a priest) also Hearher Muller (Aged 25 and a Church Preschool teacher) joined the getogether. The two men invaded the house and forced the group of friends to strip and perform sexual acts with one another. the group was also beaten and raped multiple times before being forced to empty out their accounts at an ATM. they were marched into an empty Soccer field and shot execution style. Linda Walenta was also another victim of the duo. she was shot several times in her car and paralyzed from the waist down. she screamed for help and shined her headlights until a neighbor found her. sadly she later died from her injuries. she was 55 years old and a Cellist. Andre Schreiber aged 23 was pistol whipped and forced to drive at gunpoint before being let go. he was forced to get $ from an ATM machine as well. Somehow miraculously H.G. survied being shot in the head. she ran naked through a mile of Snow to find help. if you've never heard of the case that's because many media sources didn't cover it due to the controversial racial element to the crimes. what sickens me more then the crime is the fact that it wasn't reported properly. What do you guys think? I'm shocked and sickened by this crime. and the fact it was basically buried by the media at the time. the brothers were found guilty but appeals may delay their death sentence for some years to come. personally I feel like the victims and the perpertrator's races have no bearing on the crime at all. |

Yep, I remember this case very well. The Carr brothers are some of the most dangerous degenerate monsters out there.
It's a shame it was practically buried in the press. Race should not factor into reporting the news. The truth is the truth, regardless of the race of the criminals and the victims. Why deny the proper publicity for the victims just because they were a different race than their killers? They claim the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom case was pretty much ignored for the same reasons. |

I think I remember this case. Didn't they try to argue in court that they were abused as children, and that's why they went on this spree?

I'm not aware with that case Tracy. I'll check it out sometime. oh I completely agree. I don't think the brothers were seeking out White victims. I think it's just a coincidence the people they ran into happened to be White. but honestly why does that even matter??
Anyway these two scumbags are a waste of Oxygen. not sure if they are still on Deathrow or not. I had nightmares after reading about what they did to those poor people. I can't imagine how humiliating and painful the whole ordeal was. :'/ |

Seems like one of the killers tried to blame the victims by saying they were just there to buy drugs, etc, and he attempted to completely ruin these two victims reputations. Video footage of Channon's father at the trial is heartbreaking. He had a very difficult time maintaining his composure while sitting in the same room with his daughter's unmerciful and unrepentant killer. I don't know how he had the strength to keep from murdering the guy right there in the court room. |

Good lord... I just read about the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom case. :/ so aweful. it makes me sad the crimes are pretty much forgotten or scrutinized because of the race issue. black, white, whatever. victims shouldn't be blamed or forgotten.

I agree 100% that race SHOULD NOT play a role. HOWEVER, idealism is not reality.

Why does it matter? Because we have hate crime laws on the books to punish these crimes more severly. However the laws are only applied when the hate crimes are white on non white. Thats why it matters. |

At the time of the crime spree there were no hate crime statutes in Kansas. I don't know if that's changed now. in fact H.G. was never asked if the brothers used racial slurs during the crime spree. therefore it wouldn't have mattered if it was a hatecrime.
People use the term hatecrime too freely now. what if the perps just happened to be individuals who wanted to indulge their sick desires. at what point does someone become just a person and not their race. yes hatecrimes exist. but sometimes it's *just* murder or robbery. Sometimes when a crime is committed and the people involved have different races or orienations it's used as a podium for different groups to push their agendas. the crime itself becomes covered up behind everyone else's opinions. justice sometimes goes on the backburner. this massacre was terrible. and the Perps should've have recieved the highest form of punishment not based on the fact they were a different race. did you know one of the brothers had a White girlfriend? does that fact have any bearing on this case? |

I dont care who finds it offensive Im going to speak the truth and that is that hate crimes laws target white hetrosexual males only. There are endless examples of this. Remember Colin Fergusson? The man who stepped onto a subway with the express purpose of killing as many white people as possible? Was that a hate crime? No. In fact he even tried to use "black rage" as a defense. We could go on for days with these examples of how the law is not applied equaly. |

I had never heard of this case. I'm in Michigan, but flying down to Knoxville to see my dad and stepmom for Thanksgiving on Thursday. We take Broadway to his house so I want to swing by the Chipman st address and see if there is a memorial there to the victims. RIP This was horrible

So I got my dad to drive us by and found the memorial. The house was right next to a Waste Management dumpster storage facility, and there were railroad tracks right up the road where I think they shot Chris Newsom ![]() ![]() ![]() So so sad... My dad said he remembers it, not the details, but when it happened. He said this wasn't the nicest part of town (it was run down), but still sad that it happened. There were neighbors across the street sitting on the porch but I didn't want to interrupt their Thanksgiving to talk to them about it. |
