Carry the 2 1/2-hour 1983 finale in its original length as it aired on CBS,or do they just air the series,and the finale ,in half-hour lengths?

Has the movie ever been a part of the normal syndication package? I always thought it was sold as a separate movie. I've never seen it air in parts... most stations just go from the time capsule episode back to the pilot.

The ABC affiliate in my hometown carried M*A*S*H at 7:30 weeknights for several years. I remember them airing "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" in its entirety in the '90s (possibly for the tenth anniversary). In fact, I think they even pre-empted the entire ABC primetime lineup that night to show it.

FOX aired it as a primetime special in 1993 to mark the 10th anniversary, so maybe that's what you're remembering.

Nope. I'm 100% positive it was in syndication. I remember it pre-empting ABC primetime programming and everything. Are you sure M*A*S*H didn't just happen to air on the Fox affiliate in your area at the time?

While KRIV Channel 26 was and is a Fox affiliate, the words "syndication" and "station" support the fact that the Fox Network had nothing to do with the episode airing; only the local station itself. Many sites, such as Wikipedia, state that "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was added to the syndication package in 1993.

MASH was on the ABC station where I grew up, so the finale airing on the Fox station was something different entirely. It could have been syndication, though... Fox wasn't on every night back then. It was definitely available separate from the series though since it was on a different station. Why do childhood memories have to be so fuzzy?

Totally agree with that! Pretty weird. I'm trying to find listings from that era, but Google closed down their Newspaper Archive last year.
