I am the person who wrote the M3S guide at TV.Com which will hopefully be coming out as a book some day in the not too distant future.
To answer your question: George Tibbles wrote 96 episodes of "My Three Sons" including 11 as a co-writer. He wrote more episodes than any other writer on the show. Besides writing the pilot episode he was also the Producer of the second season. From Season 8 he assumed the Head Writer position but was credited as Story Editor/Consultant/Supervisor, depending on which season you might be watching - basically he assumed the head of the show's writing staff. In the 1960s while still working on "My Three Sons" he also contributed on occasion to "Leave it to Beaver" (from the beginning in 1957) "The Munsters", "Pistols and Petticoats" as well as "Family Affair" which was made by Don Fedderson Productions who made M3S. In the 1970s he wrote for "The Partridge Family", "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Hello, Larry". His son Douglas who also wrote for M3S also wrote for "The Munsters" and "Bewitched". |
