Confused Were Rhoda's Other Siblings Ever Mentioned EVER?!?

Just curious if her other sister or brother ever were mentioned on the spin-off?

I haven't scene every episode, but from what I have seen, it seems like they were kind of just forgotten.

There was a brother,Arnold mentioned on the MTMS and a Brenda but when

Mary and Rhoda go to New York the sister is called Debbie, then when the spinoff Rhoda starts, its a sister called Brenda again and Debbie is gone.

Would have been a great storyline in later Rhoda,if the brother came into

the show, revealing he'd fallen out with Ida,years before.

I remember reading somewhere back when the MTM episode aired where Mary & Rhoda go to new York for Rhodas sisters wedding than when they decided to do a "RHODA" spin-off, they decided to drop the married sister.

LI don't watch RHODA on ME TV but I'll watch MTM every once in a while and sometimes I'll read the description of the episode in the on-screen listings. I read that and was a little surprised that they showed it since RHODA airs right after MTM.

I think Debbie and Arnold are moored on the Island of Misfit TV characters along with Chuck Cunningham, Judy Winslow, Carl Dixon, etc.

Nope, there was no Brenda there. And in the "Rhoda's Wedding" episode, Mary meets Brenda for the first time, and says something like "Rhoda has told me so much about you." You would think that since Mary attended Debbie's wedding and was staying at Martin and Ida's apartment, at some point she would have met Brenda! Of course in that MTM episode, there was no mention of Brenda. And never on Rhoda was there ever a mention of Debbie, or even of Arnold, for that matter. In fact, towards the end of the series, there was an episode where Rhoda and Brenda are at their parents' apartment and the four of them are watching old home movies of the family. The only kids in those movies are Rhoda and Brenda and it's abundantly clear that they are the only Morgenstern children, kind of like the final Happy Days when Howard is toasting his "two" children, and us viewers are screaming, "What about Chuck?!" So I guess Debbie and Arnold are but a figment of our imagination. And Mary Richards must have been having a dream when she attended Debbie's wedding.

Or at that time it was no plan to have the Rhoda character in her own show so maybe that's why those siblings were not seen again

Yes Arnold and Debbie went into sitcom limbo with Chuck Cunningham and Tiger the dog on the Brady Bunch. I would have liked Rhoda to have more siblings than just Brenda. I loved Brenda, and at least one other, maybe a brother would have been fun! Who could have played him?

Could you see Ida being an overprotective mother of her "little boy', like no women would be good enough. She wanted her girls married so badly, but a son, she would be picky about any girl he dated. And if he did get married, I could see her being an annoying mother in law to his wife. It would have made some funny storylines!!

Rhoda didn't have any other siblings than Brenda.
