Tonight Nick started over with the series, however, instead of playing the unedited theme like they had on the first few seasons the last time around, they now have stuck the edited version on every episode! Since the edited version is approximately 30 seconds shorter than the full version, that means, <start sarcasm> ooh! they get 4 more commercials a night! Well worth it!! <end sarcasm>

I've just discovered the problem. Back in November they switched from the unedited time compressed prints they were showing to edited prints ran at normal speed. Quite frankly I'd much rather have the time compression over the edits. Wouldn't you?

I liked it in the beginning because they showed more pictures.

IM PISSED.. really.. i wanted my theme. .thats crap.. nick at nite didnt have to edit that out.. i know its only a theme but still!!!!!

If they're going to show the edited syndication version, it might as well not be on Nick At Nite.

I don't like it either, but what would you rather have - the full theme or 30 more seconds cut out of the episode? I don't need the full theme to get me in the mood for every episode, when I tape episodes I usually fast forward through it anyway.

Well, I'd rather have a version that doesn't suck and is different from the syndication version. One of my other favorite shows is NewsRadio. For that show, the versions that air on cable on A&E and the syndicated versions are different. Which is what we should get from Cheers on N@N. Versions of episodes that are different and better than the syndicated versions. That doesn't mean unedited. It means leaving in a minute more so that something that was cut in the syndie version is left in.

N@N is showing THEIR edits of the original NBC, not syndicated eps(tho it may seem like it).

the reason is the theme itself...its not the same version as from syndication(for ALL seasons, not just 1-3)
