Frank Nelson as Mr. Mooney
I always thought that if Gale Gordon hadn't gotten the part of Mr Mooney than Frank Nelson would have been good in that or a similar role. I thought of it the other day when he was playing the train conductor on the "I Love Lucy" ep where she kept pulling the emergency cord. They had great chemistry.

Did Frank Nelson ever work with Lucy again after playing Ralph Ramsey on the final season of ILL? I don't recall him ever appearing on TLS.

I can't imagine Frank Nelson taking the physical abuse that Gale Gordon took as Mr. Mooney. I don't think Frank Nelson ever even got a pie in the face in his long career, nor could he do falls & cartwheels.
