They have a contract with the Fashion Show. They can't just all of a sudden stop airing it without the contract expiring.

Why, because it wins it's timeslot every year and is huge in the 18-49 demo.
The good news is they renewed the contract until 2016. I work in advertising , the special sells out of its ad space at premium prices. Actually draws a desireable audience for CBS , not their usual 50+ viewers. from Deadline , from last year CBS aired an NCIS rerun (3.0.8, 15.1 million) at 9 PM, which proved its mettle by winning its time period in 18-49 and total viewers and ranking as the most watched program of the night. At 10 PM, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (3.4/9, 9 million) also won its time period and was up 17% in the demo and 13% in viewers from last year’s telecast to draw the special’s largest audience in 7 years. |
