Crazy CBS to air the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" AGAIN?!?!

What's CBS thinking? The ratings go down every year! SOLYNDRA is a better run company!

They have a contract with the Fashion Show. They can't just all of a sudden stop airing it without the contract expiring.

Well, this better be the last year of the contract. I'm sure stopping it (like ABC did with The Wonder Years, REMEMBER?) would please the 99% who want it gone.

What does The Wonder Years have to do with anything? That was a sitcom, this is a fashion show.

99% of the people want it gone? The event attracts many eyeballs each year!

I'm sure the decision makers behind this at CBS--and other players in the entertainment industry--number FAR less than 1% of the US population. Where's your proof of "many eyeballs each year"?

Why, because it wins it's timeslot every year and is huge in the 18-49 demo.
The good news is they renewed the contract until 2016.
I work in advertising , the special sells out of its ad space at premium prices.
Actually draws a desireable audience for CBS , not their usual 50+ viewers.

from Deadline , from last year

CBS aired an NCIS rerun (3.0.8, 15.1 million) at 9 PM, which proved its mettle by winning its time period in 18-49 and total viewers and ranking as the most watched program of the night. At 10 PM, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (3.4/9, 9 million) also won its time period and was up 17% in the demo and 13% in viewers from last year’s telecast to draw the special’s largest audience in 7 years.

huge ratings again!!

won the night in the most important demo, 18 to 49
thankfully this will be going nowhere!

CBS won the night with the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 as well as total viewers. Having the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Victoria's Secret Fashion show on the same night with a repeat NCIS sandwiched in between seemed kind of wacky, but darn if it didn't work! Rudolph was up over last year to a 4.0 adults 18-49 rating and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show saw a record with adults 18-49 (4.6 rating) was up 35% versus last year and had its best total viewers since 2002 (10.3 mllion).
