Question That Texas Family Court Judge named Adams

Do you think he should be removed from the bench for what he did?The story was all over the news today.Anyway, here's the story. Now 23,and an adult, his daughter came out with a picture that was posted on the Internet and made the national news of her father, the judge, brutally beating her when she was 16 years old.Yes,I know the statue of limitations has expired in this case, and nothing can be done now,but he should at the time (he was a judge back then, too)have known better. He still should know better. As for her mother, she also castigated the girl at the time, and practically egged him on,all the while yelling at her. After the incident(correct me if I'm wrong),she divorced him, calling him domineering. She and her daughter have reconcilled.Anyway, back to the questiono you think this judge should be removed from the bench?I do.Any comments?

No what he does on his own time is his business and no one elses. It all comes down to how an individual feels about spanking.

No I don't think he should be removed. He should be reprimanded for losing his temper like that. And maybe go to anger management classes.

Some people in the legal profession (CNN's 2 lawyers on their LEGAL BRIEFS segment)think that he should be SEVERELY REPRIMANDED by theTexas Bar Association. And removed from the bench. But it's up to them.

First of all; what a creep!
Secondly, he blew his credibility as a Family Court judge. The attorneys who try cases in front of him will easily be able to have him removed from their trials if they feel like he is not objective, and (if he's ethical--I'm guessing he's not) he will have to recuse himself from all cases that involve disagreements regarding corporal punishment.

yes, I do! YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER hit your child, no matter how old she (or he) is.
I was SHOCKED when I saw that video. (which is on you tube. Just type in the name "Hillary Adams".)

I feel for the child. To be whipped by your mother and father. Terrible.
The pain that child felt. I did see her on a news channel and she looked and spoke well.

i don't think he should be removed from the bench, but I don't think he should still be a family court judge - he seems like the kind of guy that would be pretty hypocritcal about the entire subject...

now if he wants to be a hard-ass to common criminals, that would be perfectly alright!

What a complete tool. He should be removed from family court. Hope they nail him for this. He went way over board, I'm sure this was not the first time this has happened either. Jerk.

It must be a different life. To be brought up that discipline is hitting your child. To give pain is to teach someone. No one likes pain. In some cultures it taken for granted, but I for one do not like it. Then to find out after you leave your household, other people you know had discipline done with out pain. It must leave you with a lot of hard feelings with your family. How could you do this? I would have him lose his job. Isn't he middle age by now and about to retire.
