I, for one, would love to see Paramount release something like this, similar to Twentieth Century Fox's excellent season-by-season box sets of The Simpsons, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, M*A*S*H, and the X-Files as well as Warner Bros.' Sopranos boxes.
As you all know, the entire series recently went through a meticulous digital-remastering, so now would be a perfect time to release the show on DVD, starting with the complete first season and working their way up through the eleventh. I wonder if Paramount has considered this or if they think the show is too hot a commodity on in-house network Nick At Nite. I'm just getting tired of watching dreadfully hacked episodes - especially after the promise of the show's first month on Nick at Nite - and would love to have them all, at my disposal, unedited. |

I think if they do, they need to correct the themes from seasons 1-3, so it sounds clear(like on N@N) AND you can hear the harmony well(like on NBC).
also, they should include bloopers, behind the scenes footage, press stuff, etc. if they make a DVD would they do it? maybe...since N@N is owned by Viacom, who also owns Paramount Doug |

I'm a purist, so I really don't think there's any "correcting" needed for the theme in the first few seasons. I'd like to see them packaged on the DVD the way they were originally aired.

I have the simpsons one, and they have bloopers scripts and simpsons foreign clips. It would be really cool if they made cheers on dvd with the full theme song. I hope they put in extra features too.

AKA...the themes for seasons 1-3 on N@N are NOT how they originally aired on NBC. on N@N, they're clearer, but they harmonies are hardly audible. I meant to correct it so they're still clear, but u can hear the harmony as easily as the melody

I didn't start watching on NBC until I was 9 and my parents let me start staying up until 9:30 (around the eighth season). |

Paramount is currently in the TV series on DVD market, as Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete First Season will soon arrive, with season two on the way.
Let's hope Cheers comes to DVD sooner rather than later. |
