Great news, until they decide to charge it again in six months, and then take it away again two months before the election. Just going on my 13 year experience with them, but i hope i'm wrong,
For now this is good news, thanks for sharing Solomon!! |

Darn, my bank was picking up tons of accounts because of that fee! We were hoping they'd keep it up and we could steal all their customers!

Bank O.A. pulease. I have 3 accounts with them, well when i went to order checks for the campus edge one they said "oh no we're phasing that out" well it's supposed to good for free checking for 5 years and i still have 2 left, but they want that 12.50 per month checking fee for the "privilege" of letting them use my money. He was trying to push some account on me where you don't pay a fee but you get no service. Such a deal!

Oh they're going to find ways to get money out of you by minimum balance fees, teller transactions etc.

I agree that charging the debit card fee was dumb and would hurt them. But Banks (sadly) can be such vultures of the middle class/poor...they'll come up with some scheme (usually in 2 pt font)
Credit Unions are the way to go...if you can join one (they have eligibility requirements)...ususally you can find a way to qualify for one in your area somehow |

Good, cause this was completely idiotic. If you're like me and live paycheck to paycheck, you can't afford $5 for something stupid like this.
My utility co. decided to start charging $4.95 to pay your bill by debit or credit card, so now I have to go to their office and pay my bill with check or mail it in, totally dumb

I agree the debit card fee was stupid - it was funny to watch from the sidelines though. This whole situation is just sad now. |

But honestly, some of the fees really seem to hurt the working poor most (maybe not your Bank particularly.) These days, whenever I ask for anything from my Bank, I always preface it with "is there a fee for this." And I read EVERYTHING they send me. |
