This is an oddity, but I researched Jay North, having loved the show when I was a kid. Jay enlisted in the Navy, where he was treated so badly by his superiors and fellow crew members that he was let out early with an honorable discharge. He was unfortunate enough to still be recognizable as Dennis the Menace.

Talk abut being stereotyped.

Wow! First he suffers from his abusive Aunt and Uncle through the Dennis the Menace years, then more abuse in the Navy. It seems he had a pretty rough life in his younger years.
