Oh No I'm saying goodbye to love...

I tried talking to girls, I've went to internet webpages, and I've even tried to have a Find Me A Girl Party, but the only thing I know about love is...How To Live Without Love.

I'll just be the only one in my family without someone to love but Imaginary.

Guess I am a Chick-Repellent, so this will be my song....

I'm sorry you're having such bad luck and I know this is a cliche but I firmly believe that love happens when you least expect it. Or at least that's the way it happened for me when I met my husband. Took me a while to actually believe that it was happening, but when it did, it was wonderful-and still is!

And I hope this doesn't come across as mean, but the title of your post made me think of a song that I literally just listened to on Youtube. It's called "I'm Through With Love" and Marilyn Monroe sings it in "Some Like It Hot".

But seriously, I wouldn't give up although I know what that frustation feels like.

I'm in the same boat too Mr.Cleaveland and I'm at peace with it and I'm happy being single the only regret I have is never having kids to raise who would eventually make me a Grandpa.

I don't think people actually get in relationships to "fall in love" and have a committed relationship anymore, I think people just get into relationships now so they can play the blame game, get their backstabbing friends involved, cheat and turn their lives into some kind of Mary J. Blige song with all the drama and heartbreak.

Mrcleveland how old are you? If it makes you feel better I know several who married first time in their 40's. I understand how you feel because I am 40, never married and childless. I have what some consider "unrealistic" standards and I am often told I will be alone. I want to find someone but would rather be alone than with someone who has standards I don't like. II dont think my standards are that unrealistic but if it means being single I can handle that. I like the idea of adopting a special needs child in a few years if I don't meet mr right.

I agree with Tara. Don't give up.

yes, I agree with Tara. If you've read some of my other posts about my experiences with on-line dating sites (for those who haven't; I've been scamed on them, more than once) you can understand that I was discouraged and starting to think that I would NEVER find someone. But now, I've decided to start trying again and I KNOW I will!

When you least expect it, Paul, love will come along and work its magic. Don't give up. I'm sure it's terrible to feel lonely. I've had the good fortune to have the same man in my life for 27 years. I found him young, and I thank God for that. Everyone's life runs different, and yours is on another course as mine, of course. Hold on, and don't give up the ship. You're a nice guy. Too nice to spend your life alone. It will happen.

Oh No

Today...I was supposed to have a Singles Party...But I cancelled it because not many people claimed the invitations.

But this was after I made the boycott on relationships.

I actually was in the exact same spot not that long ago. I was so tired of all the dating frenzy (and my little sister being soooo happily married was just irritating). I quit dating and embraced being single. Wouldn't you know it? After I'd completely given up was when I found the right guy. I NEVER would have expected that we would meet as we did - it just happened. Love doesn't happen when you go looking for it. My experience is that it happens when you stop looking for it.

Best of luck. Don't give up hope, but don't wear yourself out either. Good things come to those who wait.

I have to agree with you on how love happens when you least expect it to. It happened to me a year ago when I found and ex-boyfriend I had from High School on the internet and we got to talking again and before I knew we got back together. Though I still have issues with trust with him, I know in my heart that I will always love him. My heart has always belonged to him even in the 8 years that we had been apart.

I'm not sure I really believe the whole it happens when you least expect it in all cases. For instance if you are older you have to actively seek out single people. Everytime I wasn't seeking out anyone I didn't find anyone. Plus, if you are seeking specific partners you have to seek them out.
