Sofia Vergara to Get Her Own Youtube Channel
YouTube is expected to announce Friday that it has partnered with several big names to present TV-style channels that will feature professionally produced shows, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Although YouTube has been known to be a hub for amateur-produced fare such as wacky cat videos, makeup application tutorials, backyard stunts or personally recorded greetings, the video-sharing site is looking to branch out with programming that will compete with satellite and cable TV providers. Although an official announcement hasn't been made yet, it's expected that YouTube wants to create 100 niche channels that will be programmed by the likes of Ashton Kutcher, Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler, MTV, Warner Bros., Ben Silverman's Electus, CSI creator Anthony Zuiker, Everyday Health, Iconic Entertainment, BermanBraun, World Wrestling Entertainment, HSN, Shaquille O'Neal, and a Latin channel featuring Modern Family's Sofia Vergara.
