Interesting!!! No offense to Barbara Barrie, but I think I liked Abby Dalton better as Liz.

She seems a bit softer, gentler, and warmer in the role of Elizabeth. Odd that this is the same actress who would go on to play the wacko Julia Cumson on Falcon Crest!!

I never even realized someone other than Barbara Barrie played Barney Miller's wife.

Yup, Abby Dalton played Liz for the original 1974 pilot only, and then Barbara Barrie took over when the show went to series. I wonder why Abby Dalton didn't continue with the show.
