I have the box set

I will be doing episode reviews of the rare episodes when I get around to doing them. So far based on the reviews I have read, this set looks like it is good.

Are any of the discs in your set defective? Many people on who post comments here have mentioned that some of the DVDs don't work properly.

I don't know. I haven't gotten around to putting them in my DVD player, but I will.

Yeah most of the problems are disc 1-3 but now I'm reading that disc 6 cannot access link to "Missing Pair of Pants".

Disc 3 does not load on many dvd players and when you hit play, it goes straight to "The Prowler". The menu can only be accessed when hitting menu button on the dvd remote.

Disc 1&2 on the menu selection you have to wait for the music to stop in order for the selection cursor to appear.

I saw that mentioned in the thread that Ben linked us to as well. They must be referring to the scripts on disc 15. It would be nice if they got the disc number right before making a complaint.

I been lazy to do so. But I should give MPI a call and get information on what discs they are replacing.

I plan on waiting until everyone on this message board posts comments about the replacement discs before I buy the set.

I have called & they said all complaints must go through their website.
I asked if they received complaints & the woman said yes.
I asked if they were planning on producing new discs.
She said no. But they would replace any discs not working.
I said that the first 3 discs have loading issues & there is wrong content on disc 15.
She said please put the complaint through to the website.

Thanks for posting the information! It's interesting to know that MPI will not be producing new sets even though they're receiving complaints about defective discs. I think their decision will hurt future sales.

I emailed/contacted them 2 weeks ago with the issues in detail. I got no reply back either. I cannot believe they released such a set with some of the discs having technical issues.

It's amazing that MPI didn't bother to reply after you sent them an email that described in detail the issues that some of the DVDs have. This release has turned out to be a major disappointment.

That's a great idea! I think the Jackie Gleason estate has a website so that might be a good place to start.

If you read what Chris posted in the other thread and contacted Niki about the issues, then how did you get the impression that they're not going to fix anything? And Jackie Gleason Enterprises just licenses the material to MPI, they had nothing to do with the discs being defective.
