Thumbs up Charles Brothers Do NOT Disappoint

I saw the finale for the first time last night, and it was the best episode I've ever seen from ANY series. I could not have loved it more (except for the fact that Diane and Sam SHOULD have been married). Everything about it was first class....the acting, the writing, the camera shots....everything was perfect. I think that the actors were at their absolute best. Shelley Long was absolutely fantastic, she really depicted Diane Chambers in a more mature manner, which proved to me that Diane really had grown....and so had Shelley. Ted, what can I say? Ted was at his most moving and most creative. He made me believe that he felt everything that Sam was feeling. I felt every drop of emotion that "Sam" was feeling. Kelsey was another wonder, bringing Frasier to the table unlike ever before. Shelley and Ted together equaled the magic that was never duplicated on the show. Six years later and they were just as magical and wonderful together as if time had stood still. The highlight was at the end, after everyone was gone, and Sam was left....I felt that I was there...that I could feel every emotion. It was MY Cheers that was ending. It takes a great actor to carry a whole scene....much less do it beautifully. The ending was so wonderful, and was as classy as the series itself. I loved the line that Ted muttered at the end "I'm the luckiest son of a ***** in the world." That was Sam, girlless, without family, sex crazed....but he was the luckiest man because he had Cheers. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks to the Charles brothers for ending Cheers in a classy, wonderful, hilarious, emotional, real, and unforgettable way. It was fabulous.

CHEERS!

Wonderfully written by you, DianeC (I am a connesiour of tv and film reviews), but I couldn't have been more disappointed in the last ep. No finality to the characters lives, I only laughed a little bit and a big letdown of the last shot. When they cut outside I was like "is the bar going to explode or what?" Then I see the exec. prods. names and was like "that's it??" I was really surprised that kind of ending was greenlighted. It probaby would've been cliche to have the standard "everyone moves on" (not that they didn't do a little of that), but it would have been more satisfying to me if they had gone that route. I was in my junior year of H.S. when that aired, and the next day at school everyone was feeling the same way that it needed more closure and was way too uneventful.

Its was a good ending but I think at the end they should have said in Memory of Nicholas Colasanto or done something in memorium for him. Diane and Sam will probably never get married if there is a reunion or maybe they will. Its hard to say....

They did have a tribute to him, near the very end, when Sam straightens the picture before he goes in back. According to this special I saw on "Cheers", that was his favorite picture, and they always had it hung up in the bar.

I like how they always remembered Coach on the show--it's so infuriating when a character dies, and the rest of the people on the show act like he or she never existed. Then again, Cheers isn't like other shows!

Yeah, he had it hanging in his dressing room, and when they were cleaning it out after his death, they decided to hang the picture up on the set.

that was an excellent thing for them to do,it was a real nice way to remember the actor and also the character of earnie pantosso,I,m glad they had alot of admaration and respect for the actor alot of sitcoms forgot that when a character has died, plus the character of coach was one of the most loveable and nicest characters in the history of tv

I've also heard(but dont believe) that the picture of Geronimo is actually Nick himself from a movie where he played the Indian.
