I posted this on another website and I had to share it on here. It was on You Tube. I was watching when Daphne was first introduced. It made me realize something and that is when I posted what I posted below. It does really make you think.

"The most ironic thing with the pilot episode is when Niles suggests that Frasier hire a home health care worker, and gives him a number for an agency to call, Daphne is one that gets hired. So inadvertently Niles played a part in Daphne getting the job, wherein he meets her and falls in love with her, eventually marries her and has a child with her. It's like it was meant to happen. He actually had a hand in his eventual happiness."

It is amazing how good this show is from the very first episode. I've said it before, but it's funny how other shows have to make major cast changes and such after filming. Frasier was AWESOME out of the gate.

Chuck was cut from Happy Days
Barney was Andy's cousing in the pilot
etc.

Yeah, I love that little detail. And at that point, I don't think even the writers knew about N/D! I've always wondered if they ever wished they'd had them meet in "The Good Son." I know it's only like 2 eps. later that they do meet, but since it was such a huge part of the show, it would've been cool to have it there from the start!

I have seen "The Good Son" many times and I honestly think it's the best pilot I've ever seen. I mean it introduces everything (and everyone) so well. I loved Daphne's first scene (and Niles of course! So adorable!). I love what you posted, Andress, about Niles being a bit responsible for his happiness!
