Question Do You Like To Camp?

Being from Oregon, i love camping. Most people i know do. i love the peacefulness, clarity of mind, and serenity you get when getting away from modern technology. i don't even own a cellphone.

My favorite camping spots are in the Tillamook area. They have some wonderful spots. i like the Tillamook cheese factory too. Ran into a couple there from Wisconsin once, and even they were impressed with it.

i don't like the crowded campgrounds, except for some of them on the coast, because i enjoy the sea air. The drunk people, and screaming kids defeat the whole purpose of camping. i like the federal ones, which go for about five bucks compared to the 25 bucks or so in the others.

Haven't been camping in awhile, not since i was with Donna who enjoys camping just as much as me. Not a surprise with her being from Canada. My family has camped at Clear Lake, but i never have. Want to though, cause i hear it's quite beautiful!

Yes I love to camp. Every fall and spring, I usually go a camp site and retreat center in New Hampshire with our church for our annual retreats. They have fields set up for tents, a beach, and a lake for canoeing among several outdoor activities. I went there two weekends ago and my GF and I went out on the lake in a canoe on Saturday. We had a great time overall.

Love camping. Fortunately my wife and daughter enjoy it too, so that's our family time together. Favorite areas are around Mt Hood, and we go to the Oregon Coast around Lincoln City.

iv'e wanted to go camping up at Mount Hood, but never have. i use to camp up their in my childhood friend Ian's log cabin, but never did the rugged camping up there.

i also enjoy Lincoln City. Use to visit their every Summer as a kid, and it was also the last place i camped on the Coast with Donna. Fun times!!

Yes, we also like to go camping. We use a tent so we can camp just about anywhere. We mainly camp in The Land Between The Lakes area which covers part of Tenn. & Ky. But we've also camped in the Smoky Mountains a few times.

That's one of the main reasons we moved out here was so we could be so close to Mt Hood and the wilderness.

Lincoln City, Coos Bay, Depoe Bay...these were the areas we always went camping when I was a kid- Beverly Beach was the campground we used to always go to...I've taken my family there a few times the last few years but it's changed.

We have an RV in a year round campground in northern Michigan. I like to camp but not in tents! We have a microwave, satellite dish and my old computer. And a full bathroom!(Important!) It's very cozy. I tried rustic camping and I hate it! But now that my husband and I are older modern camping is for us!With electricity and water hookups. We do still have a campfire in the evenings then we go in and watch tv. And the best thing is that our restaurant hangout is in walking distance! And the State Park is just across the road where we hike the trails.

Awesome pics Marlene!! Our friend who we use to camp with, (Shelly) had a big RV that her and her husband Keith stayed in while camping. We use to go in there at night, and play cards, and drink a little liquor, (back in my drinking days.) i know outdoor camping isn't for everybody, i was like that myself when i first started camping, but grew to love sleeping in the tent. Especially in those first few months Donna and i were together!! lol

Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone. i enjoyed reading. Nice to see so many fellow camping and nature enthusiasts!

It's nice too because my family can go there and use it anytime they want. All they basically have to do is hook up the water hose, plug in the electricity and unlock the door! It's great!

Here's another couple of interior pictures showing how roomy it is! We love it! The kitchen is on the right and the bedroom and bathroom are through there in the back

Now that's what I call camping!!! I love being in the great outdoors, but I hate sleeping on the hard ground and not being able to take a shower.

i hate the hard ground too. i have one of those big inflatable mattress things i use that is filled with air by the lighter of your car. it only takes about two minutes or less to fill. Be careful though, cause a little too much air, and POP!! Far easier than filling up a raft though.
