I always wondered about the Witchcraft franchise, 13 films that span from 1989 to 2008...yet I never see or hear it discussed amongst the horror community(as far as I've seen)....though I don't normally pay attention to IMDB's Ratings it's interesting that it seems like almost all of them are rated under 3 out of 10.
There must be an audience for them since there is 13 films. Anyone? Witchcraft (1989) (V) Witchcraft II: The Temptress (1990) (V) Witchcraft III: The Kiss of Death (1991) (V) Witchcraft IV: The Virgin Heart (1992) (V) Witchcraft V: Dance with the Devil (1993) (V) Witchcraft VI (1994) (V) Witchcraft 7: Judgement Hour (1995) (V) Witchcraft 8: Salem's Ghost (1996) (V) Witchcraft IX: Bitter Flesh (1997) (V) Witchcraft X: Mistress of the Craft (1998) (V) Witchcraft XI: Sisters in Blood (2000) (V) Witchcraft XII: In the Lair of the Serpent (2002) (V) Witchcraft 13: Blood of the Chosen (2008) (V) |

I saw the first one a LONG time ago and I don't really remember it at all.
I have heard that the sequels became more-or-less softcore pornos as they went along, but since I didn't see them I can't say for sure. |

The first one was a straight-up horror film. Most of the rest of them were soft-core porn with an attempt to link to the first film.
I've seen scenes from some of the later ones that were shot on video and that was enough for me. The acting was awful and the music was awful. They make the low-budget 80's horror movies look like Citizen Cane.

Turning a movie into softcore porn with straight-to-video sequels seems to happen a lot.
It's not horror but it happened to Wild Things. |
