Red face How do you......

Hi! I've got a question for all of you.
Well, I'm a huge Selena fan and I know that March 31, the day she was taken, is a sort of day of reflection for alot of her fans. Personally, I listen to her music, wear purple (her favorite color and mine too), eat Pizza Hut Pizza (Her favorite), and I burn a candle in her memory. I do a similiar thing on her birthday as well, so my question is, how do you handle January 29? I hope this isn't a bad question and I truly hope I don't offend anyone.

Sad These days are never easy....

This is not an easy thing for anyone to deal with. People might think that fan's feelings do not run deep, but they do.
Personally, I am going to remember the day with a lot of kleenex and maybe watching the show if I have the time. I know I will be online with my friends here. Some of us are writing fiction which helps him to be alive for us. These are all ways we try to cope with the loss. I remember how hard it was on his birthday....and I know I will be feeling some of the same things on Jan 29th. I think it is harder for me this year since it is the 25th anniversary....I have a hard time believeing it has been 25 years.
I had an dream last night that I was watching a show analyzing the show CATM.... it was sad how they seem to get so much of the analysis wrong....and there were 2 guys who were reviving the show and were doing an awful job of it. Neither one did justice to Freddie's or Jack's parts..... it was very buffoonish. It was literally an nightmare for me and I woke up feeling cheated. I would rather have had a nice dream about Freddie than this one. I think it all has to do with the gathering depression I know I will feel marking this milestone!
Hang in there...... it is a day and it will be here and gone....and then we can get back to our lives. Continue to pray for those we love who have gone on before us, for even if they never knew us personally, I would like to think they know us now and feel our love for them where they are! That is the one hope that does help me to get through these depressing days!
Thanks for sharing with us on the boards and especially with your beautiful wallpapers....I think that is the best way you are showing your love for these people..... they are a loving tribute and we do appreciate them!

I'm not familiar with what Selena sings but thought it was a shame & sad how she died & from seeing stuff on her on tv she seemed like a nice person who sadly died too soon.

Being newer to Freddie fandom this will be my first Jan 29 since he died. As I'd mentioned on here before I used to watch the show in the 70's & watched from the first episode onward but wasn't into Freddie back then even tho I liked the show. Then I found out TVLAND was gonna start showing the show & have the marathon. I was glad of that cuz I hadn't seen the show in yrs & liked it. I watched the marathon & enjoyed it. I started watching it & soon go into the show & Freddie. At first I tried to deny my feelings for him. Naw, I couldn't have added another star to the list of stars I like but I found these boards & the Freddie sites as they came along & that helped me get even more into him. (You people are to blame! )

Before I didn't remmember what date he died other than it happened during the school yr. Now this Jan 29 will be different for me & sad because I love him now & care about him. I wish I could've met him & become friends with him. I think he would've loved my hubby Mike. I wish I could've stopped him from ending it all & told him how people including me loved & cared about him. He was a sweet dear Puertorican boy.

For some of us like me this will be our first Jan 29 rememberance as we are newer to him having gotten into him in 2001 cuz some of us were like me watching the show back then but blind as a bat when seeing Freddie back then & then other new folks to Freddie fandom weren't around back then & therefore found out about him for the first time in 2001.

For others it will be their first Jan 29 to share with other fans instead of being alone in missing him as before now, there was no internet & after they came out with the internet not much on Freddie on the internet until the TVLAND re-runs. They were all alone in their love for him. For us all it will all be our first Jan 29 where fans of Freddies are all together as one.

Maybe we can all get together & do something special on that day. I know I'll be sad & watching alot of CATM. & Probably have the hankys going... I'm sure you'll get some interesting responses. This is all new to me too but I am so glad to have the internet & hook up with fans of the stars I love & know I'm not the only one out there who loves them. I hope Freddie looks down on Jan 29 & knows we all care... I care dear Prinze & even tho I don't know you I miss you very much. God Bless you Freddie Prinze...

Red face

Well Dani.......... 25 years is a long time to not see the one you love. I'll start with a candle and a prayer. I always pray for his soul. I let the candle burn all the way. It's my way of telling him I have not forgotten him. Somehow I feel he knows we still care about him. As for Selena........ She was a very beautiful lady. Light a candle for her and say a prayer for her too. The main thing is to never forget her. She gave you happiness.

I do appreciate you all taking the time to answer my question. I wasn't sure if I should ask it or not, because the last thing I wanted to do was upset any of you. I do apologize for asking, but I was curious.
Well, as many of you know I do work long and hard on those wallpapers, so I truly do appreciate all the compliments! I know it's not much, but I like to think that it helps keep spirits alive and well.
as for me, I think I'll just keep a little memory in my heart. Honestly, I can't say that I "remember" him because I wasn't even born yet when everything happened, but I do hope that in some small way, I've helped all of you!
