Default Fourth (and Final) Season Announced!

Hey Mr. Wilson!! Look for the Fourth (and Final) Season of the classic Jay North series by mid January 2012!!

Posted by David Lambert 10/06/2011 on tvshowsondvd.com:

Dennis the Menace - Release Date and Pricing for the 4th and Final Season of the Classic Show

The final season of the classic black-and-white TV series starring Jay North comes home on DVD with the January 10th release from Shout! Factory of Dennis the Menace - Season 4. Running approx. 915 minutes, it's priced at $29.93 SRP but you can get a discount right now if you purchase it in advance from Amazon. No details or package art is available as of this writing, but stay tuned for updates.

While we've got your attention, we'll let you know that our old friend Stu Shostak of the Stu's Show internet talk radio program recently interviewed Jay North in a Dennis the Menace reunion with his co-stars Gloria Henry and Jeannie Russell. This was on Stu's sixth season opening program on Sept. 21st, and while it's too late for you to listen to it live, you can buy a download of it for 99 cents at the Stu's Show archives. Jay opens up about his time on the series, so check it out!

I liked how right before each new season release in stores, they announced the next season.

Keep watching for news on Hazel, wondering if we're going to see Season 2 yet this year or next. Like you, hope once they get started, it will move at the same pace getting each season out there as they did with Dennis! Counting the days until Season 3 of Dennis to arrive!

I wonder if the Stu Shostak interviews will be on the season 4 set, since they didn't include Jay last time.

I asked over on the Shout!Factory message board, but I haven't received a reply yet. The interview itself was really good. It sounds like Jay is at peace with what happened back then and does have some fond memories, at least with working with the cast and crew. Gloria Henry and Herbert Anderson he said were wonderful along with Jeannie Russell, Sylvia Field and even Joseph Kearns. It was just his aunt and uncle that were the problem.

Thanks for inquiring about that. Actually I was making the assumption that in addition to the radio interview, there would be a video interview like what was on the 1st season set. It would be great if both were on the season 4 set!!

I'd love to see that too! In the new radio interview Jay said that he would have done the interview for the first season dvd set, but couldn't get off work that day.

Things aren't looking too good in regards to the radio interview. Here's the response I got.

Unfortunately, there's one problem with stuff like this and that's clearing the talent. Jay wasn't particularly interested in revisiting Dennis the Menace with us on previous sets and even though we're talking about a radio interview, Jay would still need to sign off on that, since he didn't do the radio interview with any intention of it being reused in this kind of capacity.

I wouldn't expect this episode of Stu's fantastic series to make it to the S4 DVD, sadly.

In the radio interview though, Jay said the reason he didn't participate in the DVDs was because he couldn't get off work that day. Stu even made it a point to start off the interview by saying that it was just a simple scheduling conflict regarding the DVD interviews and absolutely nothing else but that. So maybe he would be willing to sign off on at least the radio interview. Unless Jay was just saying this to be nice about it to Stu. I don't know, but it didn't sound like that. He was extremely talkative about the show, (the good and the bad) and seemed to have a great time with Stu, Jeannie and Gloria reminiscing. A shame if it can't be included on the final season set.
It might help if others wrote on the topic to show that there is interest in getting this interview on there. They might try harder to make it happen. Right now, it looks like I'm the only one who cares over there. I'm also hoping Jay really did have a scheduling conflict and was not just trying to be nice to Stu about his absence from the DVD interviews. Hopefully they'll just ask him again.

Here's the link if anyone wants to write on there.

Happy to get season 4 very soon!!! I haven't watched this show in years before DVD releases. I wished sylvia brown at least did a couple guest star episodes she was very sweet to Dennis.
