A comedian who got his start on “Saturday Night Live” and went on to a huge career in movies may return to his roots this weekend, reports the New York Post’s Page Six.
Eddie Murphy may appear when his "Tower Heist" co-star Ben Stiller hosts the NBC program Saturday night, the story reports. It would be Murphy’s first visit since he left the show in 1984 and wound up in a fight with creator Lorne Michaels, according to the story. The feud between Michaels and Murphy reportedly started when then-cast member David Spade made a joke at Murphy’s expense during a career slump, the story notes. During a news segment, Spade showed a photo of Murphy and joked, "Look children, a falling star ... Quick, make a wish!” the piece says. Murphy, not happy about the joke, complained to Michaels and demanded an apology, but Michaels sided with the show's writers, the article says. A representative for Murphy said there aren't plans for him to appear on "SNL," although he might return in the future, the story adds. http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/buzz...HTt2ZBp9rTHToN |
