Now generally I am not a believer of curses, but when you look at this show in particular, it certainly seemed snake bitten....

I personally wouldn't characterize it that way, although Diana Hyland's illness was certainly tragic. Poor thing, every time I think of her it breaks my heart. And she was all set to hit it big with the show too.
And many of the "family" have not had good luck. (Lani O'Grady, Connie Needham, Willie Aames, Adam Rich.) On the other hand, Betty Buckley, Laurie Walters and Grant Goodeve seem to be doing OK. Dick Van Patten sort of, but he did have a bad diabetic episode a few years ago...he's doing better now.... |

Willie Aames and Adam Rich have had tough times due to substance abuse and I would not consider that a curse since it was self-inflicted. The same thing really applies to Lani O'Grady who was self medicating to treat her mental health issues when she OD'd. The fact that Dianne Kay and Connie Needham have both battled cancer while sad and unfortunate is not a curse either so much as the law of averages. In a cast that large it only makes sense that at least one or two them would battle serious illness in their lifetime.

There were recurring rumors that when Mark Hamil got star wars, he wanted out of his contract and put a curse on the show. well it affected him as well. he was seriously disfigured in a car accident. Many back in the 70's of hollywood, were involved with the occult
