I don't have any advice for you Tara but I wanted to say the fact that you even asked for advice is a positive step in your recovery process and I applaud you for having the courage to take this step! I will keep you in my prayers as you continue to work through this process.

I am so sorry for your pain Tara. I myself have been there and experienced that type of pain. Everybody is different, but for me it took a few weeks. Having a strong base of friends certainly helps. Nobody can really tell you to get over somebody on such and such a day and time, but I would recommend starting out slow. Start going places just to occupy your mind. As the old saying goes, an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

Tara, you are a pretty girl with a wonderful spirit, any guy would be blessed to share a relationship with you. Try not to let one guy keep you down.

Oh Tara, I'm so sorry. You are a wonderful person and I know that the right guy is out there for you. As far as how long it takes, I think it depends on the person. Some people get over it faster then others.

I really don't have any advice, Tara, because I've never been in a long-term relationship. But just know that you are in my heart and prayers!!!!

First of all Tara, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I know how much you care about this guy, and I prayed daily that it would work. For me, it took about two years for me to get over Donna, but that's just because she was my first longtime girlfriend, and I tend to get extremely attached to people.

As for the dating question, I haven't dated in four years, and have no plans to change that. I have alot of things going on right now, and dating just isn't on my radar at this point. I mentioned it before, I'm happy right now, and the last thing I need is a relationship. Right now I'm 100 percent focused on my relationship with God.

I'm so sorry that this didn't work out for you my friend. You are a good person, so I know things will continue to get better for you, and you can count on my continual prayers until the day I die. Much love to you Tara.

When a relationship ends lots of times it aint pretty. I have been through a few bad breakups in my day. You have probably heard this before but it takes times. Tara you did the right thing by crying first and crying alot. Think of the good and bad times, cry so you can get it out of your system (its not good holding all that in). After that all you can do is go on about your daily life the best you can. Another thing surround yourself with your closet friends, talk to them about it. Ask what they thought about the relationship, and ask them to be brutally honest. You may not like what you hear at first, but your friends will only tell you the truth. Also spending time with close friends will help you move on. Also do something that will help put a smile on your face.

Hope that helps.

Sorry 'bout that, Tara. I know I got over the one I was with in a few hours, but since I never had a long-term relationship (I doubt 1 year is long) I could use some advice for finding Ms. Right...I've even decided to throw a Singles Party.

I am sorry you are going through this, Tara. The only advice I can really give to you right now is to do some of the things that you enjoy doing, and just remember that there is someone out there for you. You will continue to be in my prayers.

Been there, done that. I'm sorry, I know your heart is hurting right now. Breakups are never easy. Try to keep your chin up. If I had stayed in my former relationship, I wouldn't have the great guy I have now. You too will find a person perfect for you.

I think you should have some space...if he hurt you bad...don't reply to his e-mail. And if it's STILL going...tell him you don't hate him...but you can't be in love with him.
