Michael J Fox is really cute in Family Ties and Back to the Future. There don't seem to be very many boys around today who are interested in politics, Republican or Democrat.

You can say that again! I have friends, who don't even know what the difference is between Republican and Democrat! Some of them don't even know who the vice presedant is! I guess I care a little too much about politics, and watch a little too much CNN, but I like to know what is going on in the world, rather than listen to rock music. My friends sometimes ask me some of the rock stars, and I don't know any of the answers. Then I quiz them on politics, and recent news, and they don't know any of the answers! Kind of fun! It just makes me wonder, with the way that the majority of the youth of america is today, what it will be like in 20 years when they are all ruling our country, not to insult anyone ofcourse, and not that I am perfect either. Well, I think I am starting to to get into this too much, and I better stop before the whole message board turns against me! (hehe, love debating!).

I think exactly the same way. I am a lot more interested in politics and what is going on in the world than most people my age that I know. It really bothers me that they don't care about that stuff because it affects them, too. To somehow justify why this should by on the Family Ties Message Board, this is kind of why I love Family Ties so much. I like the political aspect of it, how the parents are liberal, and Alex is so conservative.

Thats neat that your 14! I am too! That's why I love Family Ties so much too! I think it is wonderful that they have the two extreems on political issues. I like the shows when they discus that type of issue the most!

well, g2g. FamilyTiesFan, e-mail me at fastdogs32@hotmail.com if you would like to. I would like to have a friend that cares about politics and what is going on in the world!

I also think it's good how they have two differant extremes. The only bad thing is that they make fun of the Republican/Conservitave side.
I am very interested in politics. Before I started homeschooling, I would have political debates with my Social Studies Teacher. The bad thing was that my classmates automaticlly agreed with the teacher. Or if anyone agreed with me, they wouldn't say so. That made me so mad! I stood up for what I beleived.
I know nothing about the modern singers and movie stars. I got attacked at a sleepover for asking what Brad Pitt looked like.

I don't really know much about movies stars and stuff either, my friends make fun of me for that. But I think that it's kind of funny how they make fun of the Republican side on Family Ties partly because I'm a Democrat. I have political debates with my S.S. teacher, too because he is a very loyal Republican.

That is neat that ur homeschooled!!! I am too! I think if I went to school I would be the laughing stock of every kid and teacher there because I am so conservative, Christain, and republican. I love talking politics though. I have gotten torn apart by kids on the Drill Team (something with the Civil Air Patrol) because I don't know who the rock stars are! Then I ask them what Family Ties, and the other old shows are and they have no idea! I accually like to be different! I like having debates and stuff like that! It does get a little discouraging when I only have a few loyal friends, but I am used to it! I hate it when kids start making fun of me, and the ones that are supost my friends, don't stand up for any of their beliefs, and just try to fit in with the croud. Very Irritating! I just try to think on the future, and how I should try to be the best person I can be so I can excel, and also please God. Oh, Family Ties Fan, don't take this personally, but ever since the first election I can remember, I call democrats dumbocrats (hehe)! Again, nothing personal, or in the words of Alex P. Keaton, "You can still be my friend, even if you are not republican"!

Well, G2G!
