This is some amazing stuff. Playoff baseball starts early!! The Orioles are coming back on the Red Sox. It might be hyperbole or whatever but you cant script October and we are not even there yet!!

Wow! Rays score 6 in the 8th inning to pull within a run of the Yanks 7-6... two out, three run homer by Longoria made it 7-6.

Two out, pinch HR by Johnson ties it at 7 in the 9th.

Rays win in 12 on a solo HR by Longoria.

Orioles were down 3-2 to the Sox with two out no one on in the bottom of the 9th .. back to back doubles tied the game at 3-3... then a single to LF wins it 4-3 for the Orioles. Former Rays player Carl Crawford was playing LF for the Sox, he tried to make a sliding catch on Andino's line drive, but ball didn't stick... if he catches it, they'd have gone to extra innings.

What a night!

Ironically, the Cardinals will now face the Phillies in the playoffs.

That was a wild finish. Those were very disappointing finishes for the Red Sox and Braves, but you have to give credit to the Cardinals and Rays for never quitting. A lot had to right for them down the stretch to make it. The Yankees rested many of their regulars and used 11 pitchers, but you can't blame them.

Tough night for Red Sox Nation, but they will be back. Braves fan share their disappointment.

Damm Brian, i had no idea this board was active when all that drama was going on wednesday night

Well the Cards are done if they lose tonight. Actually there is no NL team to eliminate the phillies this year

Cardinals, Brewers, and Diamondbacks? Give me a break. Like I always said, the phillies competition is in the AL and probably will see the Yankees again in the WS
