Eek Dear Lord! The Marlins (Possibly) Leaked Their New Logos Online & They Are U-G-L-Y

Let's hope this is some kind of sick joke....for the Miami Marlins Players sake!

Here is the old logo and new one side by side...

What was wrong with the original logo?

Oh No

If I was a player on the Marlins I'd be asking to be traded right about now! That's gotta be the ugliest logo I've ever seen!!

I do not understand why they have to change logos? The new logo is butt ugly and is the worst logo in baseball if it really happens and I would not be suprised if they do not sell a single jersey because of that butt ugly logo

Seriously, I think the only uniforms that can even rival this ugliness would be the Ravens'.

Oh No The New Miami Marlins Logo Is No Longer The Worst Thing Ever!

Behold. This is what will happen when the Marlins hit a home run. It's what Bernie Brewer thinks he's sliding down after a couple buttons of peyote. Don't avert your eyes. Look at it. Study it. This is what we've become.

If Carnival and Las Vegas had a baby, this would be the placenta. If Charlton Heston ever lands on Planet of the Fish, this will be their version of the "It's a Small World" ride. This is what would happen if Vikings attacked a Gloria Estefan concert by catapulting flamingos and marlins into the pyrotechnics display.

This is not a joke. It's completely real. The artist is Red Grooms, and according to MLB.com in 2009 ...

Grooms is designing a spectacular signature home run feature that will be in the center-field area. Originally from Nashville, Tenn., Grooms now lives in New York. His display will incorporate water, lasers, sound effects and caricatures of Marlins.

Sound effects. This thing will shriek, too. At the very least, it will make high-pitched shrieks that we can't hear, but the pod people can, and it will signal to them that it's okay to come down and feast on our skulls. But there's also a chance that it will make sounds we can hear, and that's even worse.

Is this too much? Is this an overreaction? Loooooook at that thing. Look at it again.

Hanley Ramirez emerged from the back of the stage, wearing a grin and a new uniform, arms raised as he basked in the first applause for a Miami Marlin.

The franchise founded in 1993 as the Florida Marlins officially changed its name Friday night in a ceremony at the team's new ballpark. The Marlins also unveiled a new logo, new uniforms and new colors -- orange, blue, black and yellow.

The changes emphasize the team's move from a suburban multipurpose stadium, where attendance was poor, to a cozier ballpark near downtown where crowds of more than 30,000 are expected for every game next season.

"If our ballpark could speak, its first words would be, 'Hola, Miami,'" owner Jeffrey Loria told 500 guests seated along the third-base line.

They wore hard hats because the ballpark isn't quite complete, but a large video scoreboard was up and running to show franchise highlights and the new logo. It's a block M with a sleek marlin curled above it.

Ramirez's uniform was mostly white. Josh Johnson modeled a black jersey with white pants, and Ricky Nolasco was next with an orange jersey and white pants.

When asked who was behind the design decisions, art dealer Loria said, "Most of it was me." He chose the colors mindful of the ocean and South Florida's sunsets, he said.

A concert by Miami native Pitbull capped the ceremony. At 11 p.m. on 11/11/11, long lines formed when the Marlins began selling new T-shirts, jerseys, caps and other accessories.

The Cubs will beat the Miami Marlins in the World Series in 2015, per Back to the Future Part II.
