Official release date for season 4 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

According to the administrator of the Facebook page that was set up to get season 4 of The Donna Reed Show released his sources have indicated to him that December 13, 2011 will be the big day!

Why does it say "the lost episodes"? Maybe this will be a selection of 4th season shows, not the complete season.

The term "lost episodes" is misleading to some people. It refers to the fact these episodes have not been syndicated in over 30 years. Rest assured, it is the COMPLETE Season Four and not a collection of random episodes.

Season 5 is guaranteed sometime in 2012. As for Seasons 6-8, they are owned by Sony, not the Reed/Owen estate (who own S1-5) and so far Sony has only licensed properties to Shout Factory. They have never done business with MPI to my knowledge. So, there is no guarantee the final three seasons will come out. However, anything is possible and perhaps MPI will contact Sony and express their interest.

Finally season 4 is coming. The wait is almost over.

I'll be happy with the first five seasons. But I won't lose sleep over the rest.

I hope MPI get Paul and Shelley to do commentary on select episodes. Maybe even get Patty to sit in too and share her memories since it's doubtful we'll get seasons 6-8.

Really looking forward to Season 4. Keeping fingers crossed we'll hopefully see Seasons 6-8 done as well. Such a great show!

This is too bad, because I think season 7 (at least) is a 'lost' season too.

So we Donna Reed Show fans should consider seasons 1-5 "complete" (and I use that word loosely) if 6-8 have no chance in hell of ever being released.

It would be nice if Mary and MPI remaster the first 3 seasons like what they're doing to seasons 4 & 5. I'm sure some of us wouldn't mind double dipping if we get these cleaned up and unedited (some season 2 had syndicated episodes).

My Donna Reed Show Season 4 DVD boxset has arrived via Amazon. I can't wait to see the episodes for the first time in ages in pristine DVD quality and those glorious special features with Paul & Shelley. Now we need 1 more season fans of D.R.

MPI should've been the company to release this show in the first place imo.
