Richard Sanders Was ROBBED Of An Emmy Nomination For "Turkeys Away!"
The show received three consecutive nominations for best comedy, but Sanders' work as newsman Les Nessman — the kind of serious (but absurd) supporting character that would fit in perfectly at The Office today — went entirely unnoticed. Clearly, Emmy voters missed his deadpan report on the radio station's ill-fated helicopter-drop promotion in the Thanksgiving classic ''Turkeys Away.''
