Anyone else here a fan of Kingswood Country, an early 1980s Australian sitcom?
For those not familiar, it's somewhat reminiscent of Til Death Us Do Part and All In The Family, but Ted Bullpitt, the head of the household, has more of a "village idiot" personality than Alf Garnett or Archie Bunker ever had. Alongside Ted is his long-suffering, naive wife Thelma, and their two children, Greta and Craig. Greta is married to Bruno, a man of Italian descent, who Ted dislikes, in a similar way to Archie's dislike of Mike on AITF. To fans of either TDUDP or AITF who want to watch something new, I strongly recommend ordering DVDs of Kingswood Country, there are no season sets available at this time, but the few "Best Of" compilations released feature a decent number of episodes, so they're worth getting. |
