I hope my details are accurate. It has been a LONG time since I've seen this
episode about a Beauty Pageant Conrtestant/Queen who disappeared around 1982-1984 I believe her last name was Leepert. I think her first name was Tiffany. She had blonde hair and also had small roles in a couple of early '80's films (though I'm guessing they were walk on parts. Does anyone know what I'm talking about. The episode may be 9-10 years old. I always wondered if they ever found her. |

I remember that segment well. It aired sometime during the 1992-93 season. Her last name was Leepert (though I may have slightly misspelled it). She vanished in the summer of 1983. I saw that rerun recently, but there was no update to the story. Therefore, it is evident to me that she remains missing, and that the case is still officially unsolved.
Hope this helps. |

It's possible that her surname is correctly spelled "Leipert" or or "Leapert."

The girls name was TAMMY Leapert, not Tiffany. (last name is probably mispelled) Very beautiful girl that was in a movie called "Spring Break" in the early 80's. She went to go shoot another movie and apparently saw something that she shouldn't have. She became paranoid. She went for a ride with some guy, they got in a argument and he dropped her off at a corner. She was in her bare feet and didn't have any ID and just vanished.
Remember when UM was on NBC and during the opening credits and theme song, they would show several quick clips from cases that were solved? Well they showed a clip of this case (where Tammy gets freaked out and breaks the front window with a baseball bat) but to my knowledge, the case has never been solved. They have never shown an actual update about it. |

I found the following link: http://doenet.tripod.com/211dffl.html
It is the profile of Tammi Lynn Leppert (the actual spelling of her last name, though I recall it as having been pronounced, Lee-pert). Unsolved Mysteries never mentioned it, but a serial killer named Christopher Wilder was a suspect in her disappearance (as well as the disappearances of several other women). Wilder went on his serial-murder spree during the early 1980s. In 1984, he was killed during a confrontation with New Hampshire state troopers who were trying to apprehend him. |

Tammy is/was my sister-in-law. She is still missing and it is a mystery what happened. There are many theories, but none proveable. We have not yet given up hope that the questions will be answered, one day. Feel free to e-mail me if you know anything.

Tammy is one Unsolved Mystery that seems to have touched a lot of people cause her name seems to pop up quite a bit here and I too have always been intriqued with this case. I sure hope her mom and family will one day get some answers.

Tammy's mom died in 1997 due to renal failure after a lengthy illness. She never knew what happened. My wife (Tammy's sister) and I now carry the torch for answers. We are continually in touch with law enforcement for answers. Even as we speak we are working with a medical examiner to see the possibility of a DNA match with a unidentified girl found murdered in 1984.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Tammys mom has passed away
( I will pray that you and your wife will someday get some closure and answers as well. Whenever I see the video Scarface at Blockbuster I think of Tammy ))

Tammy's case also touched me from the first time I saw it. I have no idea why. I hope that some closure can be brought. It's been a long, long time since she disappeared.

I remember this episode, yet the credits for this movie fail to even mention her name. Unless she never made it to the shooting of the film or the final cut or what not. The link is posted above. Condolences to the family, but it is hard to believe she would still be alive after almost 20 years. I guess anything is possible, but realistically I dont see it possible. |
